History

Corowa High School has been at the heart of our community for over 50 years - educating, inspiring, and shaping the lives of thousands of young people.

Corowa Intermediate High School, a composite K-12 school, was established in 1928 on the site of the current Corowa Public School. In 1965, Corowa High School was officially founded and initially operated from this site.

Three years later, in 1968, the school relocated to its present site, which was formerly the Corowa Showgrounds. Corowa High School has become recognised for its high standard of teaching, learning, sporting and cultural achievements. It maintains strong ties with the community and partner primary schools.

In 2019 the NSW Department of Education listed Corowa High School as a model rural school for High Potential and Gifted and Talented Education.

Since 2000 Corowa High School has received 18 Minister's Awards for excellence in Student Achievement, 3 Ministers Awards for Teaching Excellence, 1 Order of Australian Youth Community Service Award, 2 Director General's Awards for Literacy and Leadership programs and 8 CHSSA Sporting Blues.
